Inspiration: Beautiful Desktop Wallpaper from Sugar Paper

I recently stumbled upon this amazing stationary company: Sugar Paper, based out of California.  My favourite discovery from their site was the free desktop wallpapers that they've created.  Check them out here.  Below are my top three faves.

Both my Macbook and phone are currently dressed with "LOVE".  It's bright, it's beautiful, and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Thanks Sugar Paper!

Inspiration for the Winter Bride

Alright, all of you winter brides out there.  Elle Magazine has created this article/slideshow for you.  Take a flip through 12 Fall 2013 Couture wedding dresses that all of you lovely ladies can use as inspiration.  Even if these fall outside of your budget, it doesn't mean that you can't incorporate their beauty into your winter wedding somehow.

Here are my top 3 favourites from the article:

From left to right: Zuhair Murad, Christian Dior, Armani Privé
All: Fall 2013 Couture

If you're not satisfied by the gorgeous dresses in the link above, here's some additional winter wedding inspiration:

My favourite from the pictures above is the ballerina/figure skater on the dance floor.  This was at a wedding I attended in December - Easily the most unique thing I've ever seen.

DIY: Mason Jar Cupcakes

A couple of weeks ago, my mom celebrated her birthday. In honour of her, I thought it would be fitting to create some fun desserts for the party.

Mason jars seem to be a very "it" item right now. So, jumping on that bandwagon, I decided to incorporate them into the treats.

Dessert of choice: Inside-Out Neapolitan Cupcakes (recipe courtesy of Sweetapolita)
Extra supplies needed: Small Mason Jars

Now, these cupcakes looked amazing on their own (see here). But when it came down to it, my problem really was: how am I going to transport these?!

Here's what I did:

Could they look any cuter? (Just to be clear, the answer is no!)

How to make this wedding related:
Wouldn't these be a great idea for bridal shower favours? That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the final product. Easy, cheap and fun to make! Just add some twine, a label, and "thank you" tag and you're done!

Enjoy!!

DIY: Dress Shopping Signage

Last summer, one of my bests got engaged.  I am so honoured that she invited me to be one of her bridesmaids.

One of my first duties as a bridesmaid was going dress shopping with the lovely bride.  This is also known as "my favourite thing to do...EVER".

In order to prepare for said day, I thought that it would be fun to go in with signs that would tell the soon-to-be Mrs. which dresses we loved and which dresses we hated.

Here's the final signage that was put together:

Each bridesmaid had 3 signs.  Essentially, there was a 'Yes', 'Maybe', and 'No' sign.  To get a little more creative, I changed the wording of the signs to the following combos:

Best. Favour. Ever!

Well, I clearly went M.I.A. in 2013.  Sorry about that.  Life got busy.  But I’m back and I promise to do my best to not neglect you again.

So, from the time that I stopped writing, to now, a lot has happened.  I’ve attended about a million weddings and have had about a million friends get engaged.  Ok, ok, I’m exaggerating a little bit – but I promise, only a little bit.

Last summer, I attended an engagement party.  Now, when I say engagement party, I don’t just mean a little get together at someone’s house or at a restaurant.  I am talking a 300 person, fancy hall, amazing food, beautiful décor party.  At the end of the night, each couple received this:

Can we say: BEST. FAVOUR. EVER!?
