DIY: Mason Jar Cupcakes

A couple of weeks ago, my mom celebrated her birthday. In honour of her, I thought it would be fitting to create some fun desserts for the party.

Mason jars seem to be a very "it" item right now. So, jumping on that bandwagon, I decided to incorporate them into the treats.

Dessert of choice: Inside-Out Neapolitan Cupcakes (recipe courtesy of Sweetapolita)
Extra supplies needed: Small Mason Jars

Now, these cupcakes looked amazing on their own (see here). But when it came down to it, my problem really was: how am I going to transport these?!

Here's what I did:

Could they look any cuter? (Just to be clear, the answer is no!)

How to make this wedding related:
Wouldn't these be a great idea for bridal shower favours? That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the final product. Easy, cheap and fun to make! Just add some twine, a label, and "thank you" tag and you're done!

Enjoy!!

DIY: Dress Shopping Signage

Last summer, one of my bests got engaged.  I am so honoured that she invited me to be one of her bridesmaids.

One of my first duties as a bridesmaid was going dress shopping with the lovely bride.  This is also known as "my favourite thing to do...EVER".

In order to prepare for said day, I thought that it would be fun to go in with signs that would tell the soon-to-be Mrs. which dresses we loved and which dresses we hated.

Here's the final signage that was put together:

Each bridesmaid had 3 signs.  Essentially, there was a 'Yes', 'Maybe', and 'No' sign.  To get a little more creative, I changed the wording of the signs to the following combos:

DIY: The Date Night Jar

I am in love with the idea of a bride and groom exchanging gifts to be opened on their big day.  However, it can be nearly impossible to come up with an idea that is unique and memorable.

This DIY project is very inexpensive and can be enjoyed for your entire first year of marriage: The Date Night Jar (thank you Pinterest, for the inspiration)!

What is this, you ask?  Well, come up with 52 date night ideas, write them on popsicle sticks and put them in a mason jar.  Once a week, pull a new popsicle stick out of a jar and voila! You have your date for the night/weekend.

How to make this happen...
